About the role

The Data/Charge Entry Coordinator at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club is responsible for accurately entering and reconciling surgical case data, ensuring pricing accuracy, and maintaining timely communication with various hospital staff.

Responsibilities

  • Entry and reconciliation of all Surgical cases, including accuracy of items such as Implants, supplies, labs, pathology, etc.
  • Maintain pricing accuracy of this data on the patient account.
  • Report any lag information to Administration if unable to move forward with record closure.
  • Trend and report any issues for quality and educational purposes.
  • Communicate with hospital staff such as nurses, materials management team members, other analysts, the BO Director and their team, and the CBO revenue cycle and Cerner maintenance team members.
  • Coordinate daily overview and charge entry input of all surgical patients of Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Trophy Club.
  • Advise necessary hospital staff when discrepancies are found with regard to charges, supplies, implants, etc., involved with patient charge entry.
  • Notify management with any areas of concern regarding charge entry process, allowing accuracy with internal controls compliance.
  • Maintain PAS system Charge Entry queue, minimizing accounts that are not ready for billing.
  • Seek management involvement if necessary.
  • Work effectively with members of other departments, particularly clinical and materials management departments, with regard to charge entry process.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Required Experience: 3 years of medical experience in hospital or doctor’s office setting preferred.

  • Good computer skills – MS Office
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive, privileged communications and work product.
  • Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record system for documentation to patients account/record
