About the Role
Provides spiritual care to patients, families, caregivers, and staff for the Medical Center. Works through the Pastoral Care Department to provide pastoral care services to other areas of the Medical Center as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Theological and behavioral science understanding of human illness and suffering
- Awareness of cultural and religious understandings of illness and health
- Computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate-level theological degree from an accredited school
- Prior experience in pastoral ministry in a congregational or clinical setting
Responsibilities
- Provides spiritual assessment, care, and support to patients, families, and staff
- Organize, coordinate, lead, and/or participate in worship services and rituals for the Medical Center
- Work with the multidisciplinary team in assessing the holistic care needs of patients and families
- Participate fully in the Clinical Pastoral Education educational curriculum
- Serve as shift house chaplain to cover the pastoral care needs of the Medical Center after office hours
- Performs other related responsibilities as required
