Chaplain - Hospice
About the role
This part time position (32 hours/week on day shift) will be traveling to see patients in Jackson county and surrounding areas. The Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of others in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. As a member of the healthcare team, the chaplain is directly responsible for the implementation of the mission, values, and polices of the facility in which they serve.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address the holistic needs of patients and their families.
- Offer bereavement support to families of those who have passed away.
- Engage in ongoing education and training related to chaplaincy practice.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations.
- Coursework/Training: Four clinical pastoral education units.
- Within 3 years of hire: National Chaplain Certification.
Qualifications
- Experience in chaplaincy or pastoral care preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Skills
- Effective listening and empathy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
