Chaplain

Responsibilities

• Rotating between Yukon & Edmond locations
• Visits newly admitted patients and their families to offer support, spiritual assistance and assess the need for return visits
• Responds to all calls for chaplaincy services including crisis calls, requests for patients and families and referrals from hospital staff
• Serves as a group leader for support groups designed to help persons cope with traumatic events in their lives
• Learns and teaches in the clinical pastoral education program
• Captures and coordinates the visits of chaplain residents, CPE students and Pastoral Care Volunteers
• Writes bereavement letters for families who have experienced the death of a family member
• Supervises the planning and implementation of worship for special services in the hospital
• Represents INTEGRIS Health at denominational and community meetings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Clinical Pastoral Education (1 unit preferred on hire; expectation to complete 1 unit within 12 months of hire if not already complete on hire)
• Board certification (or eligible for certification) by Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP)
• If not Board Certified at time of hire, must complete Board Certification within 18 months of hire
• Endorsement by a recognized faith community and ordination by a recognized faith community
