Daily Operations and Procedures
- Provides pastoral care, to patients and families in a timely manner and serves as a professional spiritual care resource
- Maintains accurate documentation in patient charts regarding spiritual care interventions, plans, and outcomes
- Advocates for patient rights in regard to spiritual, cultural, and psychosocial values and how they impact a patient and their support system response to their care
- Supports an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care by participating in team meetings and rounds
- Provides education to patients and families about spiritual resources, advance directives, organ and tissue donation, ethics, and other spiritual issues that may arise
Required
- Masters Degree in Theology, Pastoral Care/Counseling or recognized by applicant’s faith group
- Clinical Pastoral Education: 4 units of CPE (1600 hours) in an accredited ACPE hospital center
- Board Certified Chaplain APC, within 24 - months of hire
PREFERRED
- One (1)+ years of chaplaincy experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
Qualifications
- Holds a Master’s Degree in Theology, Pastoral Care/Counseling or recognized by applicant’s faith group
- Has completed 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) in an accredited ACPE hospital center
- Is Board Certified as a Chaplain (APC) within 24 months of hire

- Proven ability to provide empathetic care
- Adapt to diverse spiritual needs
- Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
