Chapel Pianist

Position Overview Ladgov Corporation is seeking a qualified Catholic Liturgical Pianist to provide professional musical accompaniment, choir leadership, and liturgical music support for Catholic worship services at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) Chapel. The selected candidate will support weekly Sunday Mass, choir rehearsals, Holy Days, seasonal observances, and other special Catholic services while coordinating music selections with the Catholic priest and chapel staff. Location: Marine Corps Base Hawaii Chapel, Building 6677 Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii 96863 Job Type: Part-Time Schedule Weekly Catholic Sunday Mass at 9:30 AMApproximately one 1-hour weekday evening rehearsal per week Candidate is expected to be available on Holy Days, holidays, seasonal services, reconciliation services, Confirmation, and other special Catholic observances as scheduled. Regular Sunday service support is approximately 1.5 hours per week for 52 weeks per year, in addition to the weekly rehearsal and any scheduled special services Responsibilities Provide skilled piano accompaniment for the weekly 9:30 AM Catholic Sunday MassCoordinate and lead weekly choir rehearsalsSelect appropriate liturgical music in consultation with the Catholic priestPrepare and submit proposed monthly music selections in advance for reviewPerform traditional, contemporary, and other appropriate styles of Catholic worship musicDirect and support the Catholic choir during rehearsals and worship servicesProvide vocal leadership and singing support as neededRecruit and train vocalists and instrumentalists from the congregationHelp develop and maintain an active, reliable choirCoordinate microphone placement and usage for singers and musiciansPrepare or support lyric presentation slides when requestedProvide musical support for special services, including Holy Days and seasonal observances such as Christmas/Midnight Mass, Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, reconciliation services, Confirmation, and other designated Catholic celebrationsMaintain dependable attendance, professional communication, and effective coordination with clergy, chapel staff, musicians, and volunteers Qualifications / Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in piano performanceAbility to read and perform traditional, contemporary, and other appropriate worship musicFamiliarity with current Catholic liturgical traditions, practices, and seasonal observancesStrong ability to play piano, direct a choir, and singExperience supporting or leading worship services is preferredAbility to lead rehearsals and work effectively with volunteer singers and instrumentalistsStrong communication, organization, reliability, and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate effectively in EnglishMust be a U.S. citizen or lawful U.S. permanent resident with a valid Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551)Must be able to successfully complete applicable background screening and obtain required DBIDS/base-access credentialsMust comply with installation access, security, conduct, and training requirements A degree in music is not required.
