Certified Welding Inspector-Wilsonville/Portland, OR
Duties
- The Certified Welding Inspector performs inspection and testing services on some of the most dynamic and high-profile construction projects in the Portland region, supporting safe, code-compliant, and high-quality project delivery.
- This role requires strong technical judgment, the ability to interpret construction documents, and clear communication with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure compliance with approved plans and applicable codes.
- Perform welding inspections in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes
- Read and interpret construction documents, RFIs, and structural details
- Conduct required field testing and inspections within certification scope
- Prepare accurate and timely daily reports
- Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and internal staff
- Maintain and pursue relevant certifications
- Uphold strong safety practices in all field environments
- Participating in continuing education and professional development
Qualifications
- Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Certifications/Licenses: Preferred certifications include (examples – not all are required) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Other ICC Certifications such as Proprietary Anchors, Reinforced Concrete, etc.
- Candidates are not required to hold all listed certifications.
