Certified Welding Inspector – CWI (Upstate, NY)

About the role

Pennoni is currently seeking full-time and part-time AWS Certified Welding Inspectors for off-site fabrication shops in Upstate New York that produce bridge and highway products for transportation agencies – we work regionally AND nationally!

Responsibilities

• Inspection of welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other materials
• Monitoring work for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications
• Communicating and meeting with fabricators, clients, and engineers
• Production of daily written shop reports

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School
• Minimum years of experience: 3
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector
• Computer Skills: Microsoft windows and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work well independently and with others
• Need reliable transportation

Preferred qualifications

• Experience performing QA/QC of bridge and highway structures fabrication
• Non-Destructive Testing [NDT] certifications (e.g.: UT, MT, PT, RT)
• AWS D1.1/D1.5 Experience
• Coating Inspection experience
• AMPP/NACE/SSPC Certification
