About the role

The Certified Welding Inspector will support welding and fabrication processes, including brazing welds and quality inspections on cabs. This role also involves training team members on welding operations, fabrication processes, and safety protocols in both classroom and live manufacturing environments. The position may transition from a 6-month contract to a permanent hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training on welding operations and techniques used within the Vocational Segment.
  • Train team members on fabrication processes and safe task performance according to safety policies.
  • Develop online, written, and live training curriculum and materials.
  • Create, design, and build training props.
  • Perform Training Needs and Task Analysis.
  • Develop training materials following the ADDIE model.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with JDE2, Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint), and technical tools like Pierce Truck Builder and ProPlanner.
  • Accurately read a ruler to the 1/32” of an inch.
  • Facilitate Level 1 and 2 Volterra High-Voltage training.
  • Communicate information positively and effectively, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Work a flexible schedule to cover training needs across different shifts.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as a current certified welding inspector with MIG and aluminum.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years of welding experience with aluminum and steel.
  • Current CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification.
  • Must pass a weld test (MIG and aluminum).
  • Ability to support brazing welds and quality inspections on cabs.

Schedule

Monday - Thursday, four 10-hour days (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM).
