Who We Want
Miller Industries is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector for our 1st Shift in Fenton, Michigan. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, with overtime as required for production on weekends.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and assessments of manufacturing activities, including part alignment and visual evaluations.
- Guarantee adherence to welding standards and documentations, specifically AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
- Facilitate welder qualification tests, including minor destructive evaluations.
- Manage records and reports related to welding inspections and process compliance.
- Ensure operational efficiency and compliance by examining welding equipment daily.
- Analyze fabrication blueprints and incorporate them into quality check procedures.
- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the company's Quality Assurance initiatives.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector.
- A high school diploma required, with a preference for advanced education.
- NDT Level ll preferred.
- Proficient in mathematics.
- A minimum of five years of hands-on welding experience.
- Extensive understanding of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code and manufacturing processes is essential.
- Expertise in maintaining detailed documentation, inspections, and quality control.
- Proficient in MS Office and adept at leveraging technology for documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties.
- Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds.
- Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
