Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of welds to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 standards and other relevant codes and specifications.
  • Perform visual and oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to assess weld quality and integrity.
  • Review and interpret welding procedures, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with welding personnel to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Monitor welding processes and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct audits and quality control checks throughout the welding process.
  • Provide training and guidance to welding staff on best practices and quality standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control programs and procedures.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and advancements in welding technology.

Qualifications

  • AWS D1.1 Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding inspection and quality control.
  • Proficiency in visual inspection and knowledge of NDT methods (e.g., ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant).
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional experience with structural steel and bolting, reinforced concrete.
  • Experience with other welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft office.
