Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of welds to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 standards and other relevant codes and specifications.
- Perform visual and oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to assess weld quality and integrity.
- Review and interpret welding procedures, specifications, and blueprints.
- Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with welding personnel to address and resolve quality issues.
- Monitor welding processes and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct audits and quality control checks throughout the welding process.
- Provide training and guidance to welding staff on best practices and quality standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control programs and procedures.
- Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and advancements in welding technology.
Qualifications
- AWS D1.1 Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding inspection and quality control.
- Proficiency in visual inspection and knowledge of NDT methods (e.g., ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant).
- Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience with structural steel and bolting, reinforced concrete.
- Experience with other welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft office.
