Certified Veterinary Technician Emergency

About the role

VCA Veterinary Specialist of CT is seeking a per-diem Emergency Certified Veterinary Technician to join their team at their 24-7 general, emergency, and specialty hospital in West Hartford, CT. Responsibilities

• Maintain a low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients
• Win the confidence of every pet parent by delivering an outstanding client experience
• Monitor for sedated procedures
• Utilize full technician skill sets
• Collect patient histories and physical exams
• Perform venipuncture and IVC placements
• Work hands-free radiology (with safety as a top priority)
• Collaborate with team members across all hospital services
• Provide compassionate care for all patients
• Experience in Emergency/Critical Care is preferred

Requirements

• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician
• Experience in emergency and critical care is preferred
• Ability to work weekends
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized veterinary technician program
• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in hands-free radiology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

$25 - $35 / hour based on experience and skill set
