Companion Pet Hospital is a progressive, Fear Free certified small animal practice located in South Philadelphia. We are a vibrant, 7-doctor team supported by experienced staff members dedicated to compassionate, high-quality care.
About the role
We are seeking a versatile, client-focused Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment — balancing exam room care, surgical support, and client communication at a moderate-to-high clinical level. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.
Responsibilities
- Split time between exam room, outpatient, and surgical caseload support
- Perform radiology, phlebotomy, SQ injections, and laboratory sample collection
- Assist with surgical setup and patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery
- Provide safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
- Monitor inpatient care and support hospitalized patients throughout the day
- Maintain accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
- Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Build strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
Requirements
- 1+ years of veterinary technician experience
- Active, good-standing Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) license in Pennsylvania (recent graduates pending VTNE testing or out-of-state license-holders eligible to transfer are encouraged to apply)

Schedule
This is a full-time position with a 4 x 10 schedule, Monday–Friday. No weekends and no on-call requirements.
Pay
$23.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
