Certified Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) Teacher

Responsibilities

• Implement the New York State and individual district UPK curriculum to prepare children for kindergarten.
• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 3-4 years in one assigned classroom.
• Create developmentally appropriate curriculum according to district and state guidelines.
• Curate programs and activities based on children’s interests and learning styles.
• Maintain a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Partner with families to create plans to provide the best care and education for their children.
• Provide effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required
• New York State Birth - 2 certification or Nursery Teacher certification required
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and remain organized
• Ability to work within regular operating hours
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
