CERTIFIED TEACHER ASSISTANT

Specific Responsibilities

• Provide extra assistance to students with special needs.
• Aid students individually or in small groups academically.
• Supervise students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Collect student assignments as arranged with classroom teachers.
• Enforce classroom values and assist with classroom behavior.
• Record and report student behavior on ABC sheets.
• Communicate with the Behavior Support team about student behaviors needing intervention.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance.
• Perform all assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Teacher Assistant Certificate.
• Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license, and fingerprinting as required by the program.
• Compliance with health regulations for physical/mantoux testing.
• Completion of TCI class for certification/re-certification and passing a test upon completion.

Working Conditions

No special conditions.

Please note: This is a full year position including both the regular academic school year and the summer school program. Candidates must be available for the entire duration of the assignment.
