Certified Surgical Technologist- Endovascular Unit
About the Role
The Certified Surgical Technologist delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by performing various functions to support the efficient operation of the surgical suite. Under the supervision of the Circulating RN, the Certified Surgical Technologist prepares the surgical suite, positions and prepares the patient, and provides instruments, equipment, and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure. Responsibilities include ensuring a sterile field, proper instrument counts, and proper operation of instruments and equipment. The role also involves participating in patient-specific care as directed and following service excellence standards to promote optimum patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the surgical suite for procedures.
- Position and prepare the patient for surgery.
- Provide instruments, equipment, and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
- Ensure a sterile field is maintained throughout the procedure.
- Perform proper instrument counts.
- Ensure proper operation of instruments and equipment.
- Participate in patient-specific care as directed.
- Follow service excellence standards to promote patient satisfaction.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, or Work Experience in Lieu of Credential, or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C).
- 1 year of experience required.
