Certified Surgical Technologist
About the role
USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Katy is seeking a motivated Certified Surgical Tech to join our team. We have 4 OR rooms and 2 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Plastic, Urology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.
Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required.
Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program preferred
- 3 years’ experience as a Scrub Tech required
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
- CST Certification required.
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
- Able to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
- Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
Qualifications
