About the role
As our Surgical Tech, you'll be an integral surgical team member, providing skilled assistance for safe, efficient procedures critical to patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the OR (instruments, equipment, supplies)
- Assist surgeons and nurses by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and maintaining the sterile field
- Count items
- Handle specimens
- Assist with patient positioning
- Adhere strictly to aseptic technique
Requirements
- One (1) year recent full-time experience in an acute care facility as a certified surgical technologist (may consider Ambulatory Surgery Center experience with equivalent acuity/complexity)
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program including certification
- Complete 15 units of continuing education each year as required by NBSTSA
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification must be obtained through NBSTSA (employees hired before January 1 2018 are grandfathered and exempt from this requirement)
- Quarterly American Heart Association Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post‑hire, completed via internal facility resources only
Preferred
- One year recent full‑time experience in an acute care facility as a CST, including trauma and open‑heart procedures
- CST certification through NBSTSA (may be grandfathered per Nevada Revised Statutes)
