Job Description The Surgery Center Operating Room Scrub Technician plays a vital role in supporting surgical procedures. Under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, you'll ensure a seamless surgical experience by maintaining a sterile field, preparing equipment, and providing patient care. Your expertise in human anatomy and pathophysiology will enable you to anticipate the surgical team's needs, and your attention to detail will contribute to a safe and efficient surgical environment. Responsibilities Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. Maintain a sterile field by preparing and organizing surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team based on your knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology. Position and move patients as directed by the perioperative registered nurse. Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly and report any issues. Deliver prompt and professional patient care, maintaining confidentiality and respect. Work collaboratively as part of the care team to meet patient needs and departmental goals. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence. Complete 15 hours of continuing education annually to maintain NJ certification. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of an accredited surgical technology program is essential. Current certification as a Surgical Technician in NJ is mandatory. Previous experience in a surgical setting is preferred but not required. Excellent knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology, especially related to surgical procedures. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for handling surgical instruments. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and maintain retraction for extended periods. Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration.
