Certified Sterile Processing Technician - Team Lead

Summary

The SPD Team Leader at Carroll Hospital will prepare and distribute sterile supplies and equipment for patient care, and function as a technician in the department. They will coordinate and prioritize the processing of surgical instruments, including decontamination, preparation, packaging, terminal sterilization, and preparing surgical case carts and linen packs. The Team Lead will provide leadership for the staff and coordinate workflow activities within the department, working alongside the SPD Supervisor to promote standardized work.

Requirements

• Preferred High School Diploma
• 2-4 years as a SPD Tech. Previous experience managing supplies and/or processing surgical instruments in a hospital setting is preferred.
• CBSPD - Certified SPD Tech
• IAHCSMM
• CIS - Certified Instrument Specialist

Qualifications

• Preferred Certification: Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist

Skills

• Advanced knowledge and skills in preparing and distributing sterile supplies and equipment for patient care
• Experience coordinating and prioritizing the processing of surgical instruments
• Ability to lead and coordinate workflow activities within the department
