Certified Sterile Processing Technician

About the role

Sterile Processing Technicians prepare surgical instruments and equipment for use in operating, procedure, and endoscopy rooms. The technician decontaminates and prepares for sterilization all trays, instrumentation, and equipment used at the surgery center and reprocesses instrumentation between cases in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular equipment checks such as autoclave QI programs and maintain records/logs.
• Assist in moving and positioning of patients, as time allows.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, particularly in turnover of the surgery suites between cases.
• Assist with terminal cleaning at the end of the schedule.

Requirements

• Sterile Processing Certification required within 6 months of hire date.
