Job Requirements
- Prepares instrumentation and equipment for sterile processing.
- Verifies the sterilization process.
- Decontaminates and reprocesses all reusable equipment and instrumentation.
- Checks equipment for cleanliness, functional use; inventories and documents the quantity of each instrument per tray/container.
- Wraps trays and products for sterilization in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Performs required biological and Bowie-Dick tests on a daily basis and records corresponding results.
- Records autoclave load contents and required statistics in a complete and accurate manner.
- Prepares case carts for the operating room based on surgical needs and supplies.
Schedule Details
The Certified Sterile Processing Technician works a schedule from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
