About the Role

Ivy Prep Academy is seeking dynamic Certified Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsibilities

• Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives in each scholar’s IEP.
• Assesses scholar progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
• Employs various teaching techniques, methods, and principles of learning to enable scholars to meet their IEP goals.
• Develops and implements annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans, including present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and required services.
• Schedules team meetings and collaborates with IEP team members to develop instructional goals and strategies.
• Coordinates the delivery of special education services outlined in each scholar’s IEP.
• Creates a positive learning experience with an emphasis on individualized instruction using appropriate resources, including iPads.
• Serves as the primary contact for parents.
• Complies with Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations.
• Completes all network and state reporting requirements.
• Establishes and maintains scholar control, discipline, and a structured classroom environment to encourage responsibility, cooperation, and mutual respect.
• Provides consultation to classroom teachers on adaptations, modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior plans, and other interventions for scholars with disabilities.

Requirements

• Minimum B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate special education area.
• Current Georgia teaching license in the required content area.
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of special education and the specialty area.
• Thorough knowledge of effective teaching methodologies for scholars with disabilities.
• Knowledge of school rules, regulations, and procedures; ability to establish and maintain behavioral standards.
• Ability to deliver oral presentations and written reports effectively.
• Ability to analyze needs and problems objectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with scholars, parents, staff, administration, and the public.
• Knowledge of relevant technology, including the use of iPads to individualize instruction.
• Experience working with children with ADD, behavior, and emotional disabilities.
• Ability and proven record of regular and punctual attendance.
