Certified Soccer Referee & Host (Part-Time)

Starting Hourly Pay: $30–$35/hour

When you accept a position with Volo, you’ll be joining a passionate, driven group of innovators within the social sports industry. Hosts serve as representatives for Volo and its subsidiaries at facilities and bars and are the main point of contact for our players in leagues. This part-time job impacts your life and your community while offering a fun work environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, fun, social, and fair environment for all players
• Understand and kindly and fairly enforce each sport’s rules
• Communicate with the office regarding any equipment, rule issues, or player issues
• Serve as a Volo representative at facilities and fields
• Set up and take down fields and/or soccer goals
• Update league scores in our host app
• Promote events and upcoming leagues via social media and on-field selling; help distribute marketing materials
• Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league
• Available at least 1 day per week from 5:30pm–10:30pm for at least eight weeks
• Perform other league-day preparations, such as field setup and supervision
• Use host app to check in players as needed
• Execute fundraising activities to support kids programs
• Make players feel welcome and create a positive experience

Requirements

• Certified Soccer official – Colorado Soccer Association or US Soccer
• Capable of officiating 7v7 or 11v11 soccer
• One (1) year of previous referee, playing, or coaching experience is preferred
• Understands how the game is played, including principles, practice, and techniques used in recreational sporting events
• Ability to handle participants, team managers, and/or coaches under difficult game situations
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Possess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with clear communication skills
• Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends
• Proficient customer service skills
• Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with fellow employees, community organizations, and the public
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
