Certified Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy

Responsibilities

• Maintains leadership of self, others, and teams.
• Responds to emergencies (Code Blue and White).
• Performs airway management including nasotracheal & endotracheal suctioning.
• Delivers aerosolized drugs.
• Manages ventilators (setup and operation).
• Provides oral hygiene.
• Placements and maintains airway retaining devices.
• Manages airway support devices such as BiPAP and CPAP.
• Operates oxygen delivery devices and monitors therapeutic oxygen levels.
• Analyzes chest films.
• Collects and analyzes blood gases.
• Analyzes EKGs.
• Accurately and completely documents procedures and patient care.
• Cleans and stocks equipment and supplies as needed.
• Functions as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
• May perform advanced practice skills such as therapeutic gas management, Pulmonary Function Testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation (Desaturation Studies).
• Conducts education and skill training as needed.

Requirements

• Experience: 2 - 3 years preferred.
• Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: RCP license in the state of employment required, BLS required, CRT through NBRC required.
