Certified Respiratory Therapist
About the role
Assess, plan, and implement care; monitor, communicate, and document; evaluate and educate; manage equipment and inventory; respond to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient for appropriate treatment, develop a plan of care based on diagnosis, and implement and monitor the care plan and equipment.
- Maintain patient condition while performing advanced respiratory care modalities.
- Evaluate respiratory practice, medications, and treatments based on patient outcomes.
- Provide education to patients and families about health conditions and community programs.
- Manage equipment and inventory, including care, calibration, maintenance, cleaning/sterilization, and inventory levels.
- Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Qualifications
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Skills
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to assess and interpret patient data.
- Knowledge of advanced respiratory care modalities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
