Job Description

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) safely provides anesthesia to surgical patients for a variety of operations and procedures, delivering pain medication and anesthesia care before, during, and after surgery. The CRNA collaborates with the interdisciplinary surgical team, maintains anesthesia equipment, and ensures optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre‑operative evaluations to assess patient medical history, physical condition, and anesthesia risks.
• Review laboratory results, imaging studies, and other diagnostic information to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
• Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
• Administer various forms of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia.
• Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and anesthesia depth during procedures.
• Manage airway and respiratory support as necessary throughout the surgical process.
• Provide care in the post‑anesthesia recovery unit, monitoring patients’ recovery.
• Assess and manage any immediate postoperative complications or side effects related to anesthesia.
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Complete required organizational compliance education for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted CRNA license in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a CRNA, including at least 18 months within the last year.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor preferred.
• Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program.

Physical Requirements

• Must meet pre‑deployment physical requirements.
• Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
• May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lb.

Special Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card required.
• Valid U.S. passport with at least six months before expiration; must maintain passport during stay in Iraq.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (MRPT); current clearances preferred.
• Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
