Location: Avera St Luke's Hospital – Monday – Friday 0700-1500. Weekend call: one weekend every 11th rotation (1:11). Weekday call: approximately 2-3 times per month. Post-call day off; incentive available to work post-call if needed.
About the role
Cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.
Responsibilities
- Performs a pre-operative patient assessment.
- Determines a plan of care and communicates the plan of care to patient and family.
- Establishes and maintains essential venous access.
- Ensures establishment and maintenance of airway.
- Responsible for inducting, maintaining the anesthesia, and proper monitoring.
- Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia.
- Transfers care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure.
- Performs post-operative follow-up for each case performed.
- Performs as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students.

- Ability to work the specified hours.
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Board of Nursing: active license in the state of practice upon hire.
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing: active license in the state of practice upon hire.
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) upon hire.
