Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking 11 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). This position supports the university's mission and commitment to excellence and inclusion.

Essential Functions

• Conduct preoperative evaluation: assess patient condition and appropriate anesthetic technique in consultation with attending anesthesiologist.
• Prepare equipment for anesthesia administration, including checking machines, small equipment, blood pressure cuffs, endotracheal tubes, and drugs.
• Administer anesthesia, record vital signs, and monitor anesthesia effects on patients.
• Follow up postoperatively, accompany patients to PACU, and assess post-anesthetic recovery.
• Report any malfunctioning equipment and supervise RNSA students in clinical instruction.
• Participate in call coverage with faculty anesthesiologists.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree, with DNP degree preferred.
• Current Nursing license in the state of Ohio.
• Certificate of Authority to practice in Ohio as a CRNA by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Current certification or recertification as a nurse anesthetist by the NBCRNA.
• Makes progress toward a doctorate degree.
