Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Summary of the Job
To provide all aspects of Anesthesia Care to patients at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed to practice anesthesia in Louisiana as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
- NBCRNA (Board Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
- Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
- The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
- The CRNA must be available in-house within 30 minutes when on call.
Physical Demands
- Must possess good physical health.
- Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
- Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort Required
- Constant (67%-100%): Reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing.
- Frequently (34%-66%): Lifting, pushing/pulling.
- Occasionally (1%-33%): Carrying, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching.
