About the role
This role involves collaborating with pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare providers to assess, plan, and administer anesthesia tailored to pediatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations and discuss options with families.
- Develop individualized anesthesia care plans and obtain informed consent.
- Administer various anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, and local anesthesia, as well as sedation and nerve blocks.
- Induce and maintain anesthesia during procedures, monitor physiological responses, and adjust levels for safety and comfort.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, manage recovery, and respond to emergencies such as airway issues.
- Educate patients and families on anesthesia processes, risks, and post-operative care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless perioperative care.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring students, residents, or new staff.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field; Doctorate preferred.
- Registered Nurse licensure, CRNA certification, and certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
