Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

About the role

Provides anesthesia care in the Operating Room to support surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, postoperative follow-up, and acting as a patient advocate and liaison among patients, families, and physicians. Work Environment: Typically performed in a clinical setting, with possible travel. Responsible for adhering to policies and ensuring patient safety and care quality at all times.

Responsibilities

• Administers anesthesia, selects drugs for anesthesia and emergencies, and monitors patient status throughout procedures.
• Induces, maintains, and adjusts anesthesia, responds to codes, and manages airway and hemodynamic stability.
• Performs thorough preoperative assessments, organizes OR setup, and conducts equipment checks.
• Coordinates with surgical and nursing staff to ensure patient safety, positioning, and equipment readiness.
• Provides anesthesia support, charts accurately, and safely transports and hands off patients.
• Acts as a mentor and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, students, and nurses.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (required).

• Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, patient monitoring, and emergency procedures.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret hemodynamic data and respond effectively.
