Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual, business, estate, and trust income tax returns.
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients.
  • Prepare complex federal and state tax returns accurately and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through phone, email, text, web-based communication, and in-person meetings.
  • Gather, organize, and review tax documentation from clients.
  • Distribute completed tax returns, client copies, and related records.
  • Provide guidance, support, and technical assistance to other members of the tax and accounting team.
  • Aid in tax-related projects and client inquiries throughout the year.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Work additional hours during tax season, potentially up to 60 hours per week, based on workload.

Required Qualifications

  • CPA license in Oregon or the ability to obtain Oregon CPA licensure within 30 days.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience preparing: Form 1040, Form 1065, Form 1041, Form 1120, Form 1120S.
  • Minimum 2 years of Oregon Form 706 preparation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and Oregon tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a small team.
  • Strong client-service orientation and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with QuickBooks and/or payroll reporting.
  • Experience with ProSeries tax software.
  • Experience working in a paperless tax and accounting workflow.
  • Experience providing tax planning and advisory services.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Primarily based in-office in Medford, Oregon.
  • Work-from-home flexibility available.

  • Additional hours may be required during the busy tax season, up to approximately 60 hours per week.
