Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, business, estate, and trust income tax returns.
- Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients.
- Prepare complex federal and state tax returns accurately and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through phone, email, text, web-based communication, and in-person meetings.
- Gather, organize, and review tax documentation from clients.
- Distribute completed tax returns, client copies, and related records.
- Provide guidance, support, and technical assistance to other members of the tax and accounting team.
- Aid in tax-related projects and client inquiries throughout the year.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Work additional hours during tax season, potentially up to 60 hours per week, based on workload.
Required Qualifications
- CPA license in Oregon or the ability to obtain Oregon CPA licensure within 30 days.
- Must have or be able to obtain a PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).
- Minimum 4 years of experience preparing: Form 1040, Form 1065, Form 1041, Form 1120, Form 1120S.
- Minimum 2 years of Oregon Form 706 preparation experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Oregon tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a small team.
- Strong client-service orientation and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with QuickBooks and/or payroll reporting.
- Experience with ProSeries tax software.
- Experience working in a paperless tax and accounting workflow.
- Experience providing tax planning and advisory services.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primarily based in-office in Medford, Oregon.
- Work-from-home flexibility available.
