About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team full-time. This role is ideal for someone who values precise work, sound judgment, and clear communication, and who enjoys applying accounting expertise to real-world financial decisions. The right candidate will be comfortable managing complex accounting responsibilities, working independently, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and interpret financial statements and related reports.
  • Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Complete bank, balance sheet, and other reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee or assist with payables, receivables, invoicing, and payments.
  • Support tax preparation and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement through financial analysis.
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, cash-flow analysis, and planning.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain accurate financial information in accounting software.
  • Recommend enhancements to procedures and internal controls.
  • Present accounting information clearly to colleagues, clients, and partners.
  • Support firm projects and share technical knowledge as needed.

Requirements

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Professional experience in accounting, reporting, tax, auditing, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • A dependable work ethic and willingness to take ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public accounting experience.
  • Experience with tax preparation or planning.
  • Experience working with small businesses, individuals, nonprofits, or diverse client groups.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar software.
  • Experience in financial-planning or investment-related organizations.
  • Direct client-communication experience.
  • Experience improving accounting procedures or internal controls.
  • Experience mentoring junior accounting staff.
