About the role

Hanger, Inc., a leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic services and products, seeks a Prosthetist and/or Orthotist to join our Sacramento clinic. Founded in 1976, our clinic has been serving the community for over 25 years. The clinic offers a wide range of services including upper and lower extremity fabrication, and collaborates with physicians to provide comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians in evaluating and recommending prosthetic and orthotic services.
  • Evaluate patient needs and formulate design of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Select materials, make cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts, considering new techniques and materials.
  • Perform fitting, ensuring the fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
  • Instruct patients on the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Evaluate and address issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
  • Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health care professionals.
  • Utilize effective materials management, quality and performance processes to maximize device quality and medical efficacy.
  • Plan and implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
  • Mentor residents or newly certified clinicians.
  • Provide assistance to other clinical staff.
  • Contribute to practice management.

Requirements

  • Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC).
  • A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or the foreign equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain state licensure if required.

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology.
  • Thorough understanding of componentry and its suitability and reliability for specific uses.
  • Effective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written presentation and reports.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists, and patients.
  • Active listening, reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence.
  • Ability to assess patient condition and advise physicians on treatment options.
  • Ability to instruct clinical and non-clinical personnel and customers on objectives of patient care services.
  • Physical abilities to lift patients using biomedical techniques, walk, bend, stand and reach constantly, and perform other duties as required.

$85,000.00 - $115,000.00/yearly + bonus + benefits.
