About the Role
Review and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for outpatient services, including physician notes, lab results, and other relevant documentation. Ensure compliance with coding regulations and standards while maintaining accurate and up-to-date coding records.
Responsibilities
- Assign accurate and complete ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for outpatient services
- Review medical records, physician notes, lab results, and other documentation to determine proper coding
- Conduct research to resolve coding discrepancies and questions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date coding records and reports
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other coding staff to ensure accurate coding practices
- Stay up-to-date with the latest coding regulations, guidelines, and standards
Requirements
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder-A (CPC-A)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
