Responsibilities
- Implement Pre-K for ME curriculum that is creative, developmentally appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, behavior management, and student engagement.
- Support children's emotional and social development through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss progress and address individual needs related to special education or early intervention programs.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing when appropriate to monitor developmental milestones.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with families regarding their child's development.
- Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations, safety standards, and school policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: At least 21 years of age, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, organized and punctual, able to monitor classroom and staff activities auditory and visually, reliable transportation, excellent leadership skills, must pass background check, high school diploma or GED, must have one of the following: Current Maine DOE Early Childhood Education 081(b-5) endorsement or be willing to get one if a teaching certificate is in place.
