Responsibilities
- Venipuncture and specimen collection
- Specimen processing and packaging
- Floor draws and draw station operations
- Compliance with safety, infection control, and Joint Commission standards
- Customer service and patient interaction
- Documentation and record accuracy
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (i.e. CPT License or Diploma)
- Completion of an approved phlebotomy training course (or equivalent)
- American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 3 years as a patient service technician/phlebotomist
- Proficiency in the following: blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, urine drug screen collections, paternity collections, breath/saliva alcohol testing, LCM/Cyber Tools, TestCup, pediatric blood collections, and difficult draws
