About the role
Leads enterprise-level inventory operations, including procurement processes, formulary alignment, and perpetual inventory accuracy.
Oversees controlled substance programs, diversion prevention efforts, and compliance with DEA and institutional policies.
Conducts advanced audits and operations reviews to advise on inventory integrity analytics, cost containment strategies, medication shortage mitigation, and supply chain resilience.
Leads system-wide medication safety initiatives, including risk mitigation, error prevention, and safety education.
Serves as a pharmacy safety champion and advisor to leadership.
Oversees hazardous medication handling protocols, environmental monitoring, and spill response programs.
Directs pharmacy compliance efforts, including audit preparation, documentation, and policy development.
Leads readiness for regulatory inspections and accreditation surveys.
Advises on regulatory changes and ensures alignment with institutional goals.
Serves as a liaison to clinical, operational, and administrative teams to advance pharmacy services.
Collaborates actively to optimize patient care, resolve medication-related issues, and ensure continuity of pharmacy services across shifts, staffing assignments, and practice areas.
Leads technician development programs, including onboarding, competency assessment, and career progression.
Mentors staff and contributes to workforce planning and engagement.
Independently leads strategic quality improvement, education, and practice advancement projects.
Executes expert-level pharmacy technician duties with mastery across all core and advanced workflows, systems, and operational programs.
Serves as a subject matter expert in advanced pharmacy services and operational strategy.
Provides oversight and strategic guidance across all pharmacy practice areas, including central/distributive operations, decentralized services, ADC management, and cleanroom environments.
Leads initiatives to improve distribution efficiency, resolve complex workflow issues, and implement best practices across service lines.
Provides coverage in at least two advanced pharmacy practice areas such as hazardous cleanroom compounding, CII safe management, medication history programs, decentralized clinical support, environmental monitoring, technician inventory check (i.e., tech check tech where authorized), or pharmacy inventory/purchasing management.
Oversees the preparation and dispensing of high-risk and sterile medications, including chemotherapy and investigational drugs, ensuring compliance with USP , , and standards.
Develops and enforces protocols to ensure accuracy, safety, and quality in medication handling and delivery.
Champions the optimization and integration of pharmacy automation systems, ADC platforms, and software tools.
Leads technology upgrades, system configuration, and cross-functional training initiatives.
Collaborates with informatics and IT teams to enhance system performance and user experience.

Requirements
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Associate [Preferred]
- Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program [Preferred]
- 2+ years of contemporary hospital pharmacy experience [Required]
Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) [Required]
- NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) [Required]
- PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) [Required]
