About the role

The Certified Pharmacy Technician II position at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center provides essential support to pharmacists, ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and dispensing of medications to patients. Key responsibilities include preparing, distributing, and delivering medications, performing clerical and administrative tasks, maintaining medication and supply stock levels, operating and maintaining automated medication delivery systems, participating in department quality assurance programs, and being trained and certified in IV admixture preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels.
  • Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
  • Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
  • Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, upon hire.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, upon hire.
  • Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing, upon hire.
  • 6 months experience compounding of IV medication, upon hire.

Qualifications

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, upon hire.

Pay

The posted compensation range of $25.50 - $25.50 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
