About the role
Mercy Health seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician for its Mail Order Pharmacy - Mason Service Center. This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptions
- Reviewing and recording patient information with their prescription in compliance with the guidelines of the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Providing instructions to educate people on the correct way to take their medicine
- Supporting the Pharmacist in the daily operation of the pharmacy
- Protecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policies
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Degree or GED
- Valid ExCPT Certification provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
- Previous experience working in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy (preferred)
Qualifications
- Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment
- Possess problem-solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic technique
