Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepares and dispenses radiopharmaceuticals per physician’s prescriptions and Company, State and Federal regulations.
- Performs Quality Control testing on all dispensed products.
- Affirms medications to determine identity, purity and strength.
- Ensures all nuclear products meet the quality and efficiency standards.
- Complies with all Company, State and Federal requirements for the handling and shipping of radioactive material.
- Keeps laboratory clean as per regulatory specifications.
- Acts as a customer service liaison for the company, including treating all internal and external customers with respect, listening to and assisting in resolving customer complaints.
- Informs management of complaints or requests in a timely manner.
- If needed, ensures the timely delivery of nuclear pharmacy products to predetermined customers on specific routes while meeting internal schedule and quality standards.
- Unloads products as per client specifications while providing excellent customer service.
- Accepts returns from clients where applicable.
- Breaks down delivery cases, disposes of radioactive materials and sanitizes lead pigs.
- Completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries and returns.
- Assists with the stocking of products and supplies throughout Facility as well as tracking inventory.
- Notifies Pharmacy Manager when products or supplies are low, need to be re-ordered or replaced.
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures while safely carrying out the responsibilities of position.
- Complies with all company safety standards, and all federal, state and local laws.
- Performs other job-related duties as required by the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Nuclear Pharmacist.
Job Requirements
- Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician with 1+ experience in the state.
- Ability to work a variety of schedules including evenings, holidays and weekends.
- Must possess excellent critical-thinking, interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
- As well as good judgment and self-discipline.
- Valid driver's license.
- Sterile Compounding Experience Preferred.
Physical and Intellectual Requirements
- Manual dexterity for manipulating small items;
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and to handle standing, walking and sitting for 4+ hours with limited rest intervals;
- Good eye-hand coordination;
- Fair eyesight (with or without correction lenses);
- Normal hearing in at least one ear (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz);
- Able to analyze situations, administer medication, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
- Effective organizational skills;
- A commitment to continuous learning;
- An ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
