Certified Pharmacy Technician, Amazon Pharmacy

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive from physical Pharmacy locations to our remote Pharmacy Kiosk locations with company provided vehicle
  • Refill Pharmacy Kiosks with medication and paper, clean machine, and collect discarded inventory for return
  • Prepare inventory shipments for Kiosk replenishment
  • Aid pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy
  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Work daily with leadership to ensure the right medications are put in the right orders
  • Run automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medications
  • Fill exception trays with appropriate medication
  • Transition Amazon Pharmacy orders through different workflow stages from initial dispense through quality control
  • Count and fill prescription vials and affix labels on bulk prescription items
  • Pack and ship completed orders, including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser and shipping boxes
  • Sort and triage the right boxes to ship at the right time
  • Aid the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacists with receiving, shipping, counting, and packing
  • Clean and help maintain equipment and work areas within the pharmacy
  • Pack medications for dispensing and for delivery

Physical Requirements

  • During Peak/high demand, shifts last up to 12 hours (standard full-time shifts are 8-10 hours, excluding overtime)
  • Driving and transporting medications from Pharmacy locations to Kiosks for long periods of time (8+hrs)
  • Standing, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching and/or stretching
  • Lifting and moving products up to 49 lbs in weight
  • Manual dexterity of hands and wrists

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of working with computer and web based tools experience
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in state of employment
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisor
  • Ability to read and understand English language labeling on product cartons and prescription labels
  • Active and unrestricted in-state driver’s license
  • Clean driving record that passes Amazon’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Checks (to be rechecked annually)

  • Demonstrated organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to recognize and identify patient medications
  • Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while consistently meeting standards for productivity and quality
