Certified Pharmacy Technician, 32hrs
Job Description
Contributes to the Hospital’s mission to care, heal and to excel in service to our community by restocking medication, including controlled substances, to patient care units. This clinical staff position will have an impact on improving safety and quality of our patients by keeping the Pyxis medication stations updated to ensure proper and timely medication distribution.
Qualifications
- Education Required: High school diploma or G.E.D
- Experience Preferred: At least one year as a certified pharmacy technician
- Licenses, Registrations, Certifications: License Required: Pharmacy Technician National Certification and Pharmacy Technician
Job Functions
- Supports the patient care team in medication dispensing
- Restocks clinical unit automated medication dispensing station
- Prepares I.V. antibiotics and compound admixtures
- Delivers medication to patient unit and Winchester Hospital locations
- Assists pharmacist in answering phone calls related to patient medication requests
- Replaces Pyxis station narcotic stock and obtains proper sign off from clinicians
- Assembles code cart trays with required medications
- Prepares pre-package stock medication into individual doses for distribution
Pay Range
Pay Range: $24.50 – $32.97
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
