Certified Peer Support Specialist - Part Time - Co-Occurring Disorder Team

About the role

The Peer Services program at ReDiscover is an expansion initiative aimed at reaching and supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses and/or substance use disorders. Our Peer Specialists leverage their own experiences to foster connections and guide clients towards recovery.

Responsibilities

• Share personal experiences of resilience and recovery to inspire and support clients.
• Connect clients with relevant support groups, community resources, and wellness activities.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans.
• Facilitate and participate in mutual support and educational groups.
• Assist with client transportation using a personal vehicle.
• Safeguard and maintain confidentiality of protected health information.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Willingness to work 20 hours per week on weekdays between 8:30am and 5:00pm.
• A valid driver's license, appropriate insurance, and a reliable car.
• Experience with substance use disorders and/or mental illness, along with completion of MCB Peer Specialist training and certification.
• Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Intermediate computer skills in typing, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite.
