Certified Peer Support Specialist CPRS
About the role
RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center, is seeking a Tennessee Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) at our Oak Ridge, TN, location. This peer support position will be part of the startup team for the ROADs (Road to Recovery) program which will create partnerships and significantly expand Ridgeview's work in opioid abatement.
Responsibilities
- Integrate into the client’s support team
- Support and advocate for consumer self-help
- Facilitate recovery groups (as needed)
- Provide support to program participants on the inpatient unit
- Aid in transitions between the inpatient unit and other services
Requirements
- Current or former mental health consumer with at least two years of experience in the mental health field or Certified Peer Specialist (CPRS) certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- If not a CPRS, must obtain certification within one year of hire
- TN drivers license with F endorsement (obtainable within 90 days of hire)

Pay
Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 annually
Schedule
Saturday-Wednesday, 9am-5pm
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of two years of experience working in the mental health field or be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS).
Skills
Excellent communication skills, empathy, ability to build rapport with clients, and knowledge of substance use and co-occurring disorders.
