Certified Peer Recovery Specialist CCBHC

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Verbalize understanding of what recovery means and articulate it to others.
• Absorb clients in identifying personal strengths in daily living and recovery skills.
• Absorb staff in identifying program elements that are supportive or barriers to recovery.
• Facilitate evidence based protocols, safety plans, complete screens and risk assessments as trained.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to partner with Centerstone programs and community partners.
• Coordinate and assist with crisis intervention/ connection to care.
• Coordinate referrals to inpatient, residential behavioral health/mental health/substance treatment.
• Transport clients to appointments and to access resources.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to meet communication requirements of certification.
• Basic computer literacy is required.

Qualifications

• Education Level: Must be 18 years of age or older, have lived experience receiving mental health, substance use or gambling treatment. High school diploma or equivalent.
• Years Of Experience: Minimum of one year of recovery. Experience Within The Criminal Justice System Preferred.

Requirements Of The Certification

• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• PRS Certification is required.
• Must be able to verify completion of state-approved training program and passing score on certification exam.
• Requirements Of The Certification Which Include: Lived Experience with Mental Illness/ Substance Use or Gambling Disorder, Willing to share personal recovery story to assist others, Assist clients in determining reasonable and holistic steps moving into recovery and identifying barriers to recovery goals.
