Certified OR Surgical Technologist

About the role

OrthoNY is opening a brand new, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center in Saratoga Springs, NY and is looking for talented Surgical Technologists to join our OR team. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Surgical Technologists assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State, and accreditation standards as well as Center policies and procedures. They assist nurses and physicians in delivering the highest standard of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the opening of the operating room (OR) and preparation for assigned cases.
• Scrub on surgical procedures as assigned.
• Anticipate the needs of the physician and have equipment, medical gases, and supplies readily available for all procedures.
• Maintain sterile techniques during operative procedures.
• Identify and act to correct breaks in technique and report as required.
• Assist in preparing for the next day’s cases and cleaning/stocking of the ORs, ensuring an adequate amount of in-house supplies and medical gases are available in accordance with weekly caseload.
• Other responsibilities as needed/assigned.

Requirements

• OR experience required; two years of hospital OR experience desired.
• Surgical Technologist certification required or unrestricted NYS LPN License.
• Ability to scrub all types of cases preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with providers, patients, and peers.
• Willingness to work at all our surgery center locations in times of shortages or as needed.
• Position requires long periods of standing, the ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently/up to 40 pounds occasionally, and utilization of PPE daily.
