Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA PRN
About the Role
Doctors Hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Acute Rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic interventions that help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life following illness, injury, or surgery. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, collaborative, and passionate about helping individuals achieve their rehabilitation goals in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic activities and interventions to improve patients' functional abilities, mobility, self-care skills, and independence.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
- Accurately document treatments, patient progress, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support patient recovery.
- Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in a safe and organized manner.
- Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Associate Degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).
Schedule
PRN (As Needed). Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on department needs.
