Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, providing therapeutic recreational and activity services to all patient populations including Special Needs, Adult, Child and Adolescent. They will use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to support recovery and wellness.
Essential Functions
- Develops and conducts group therapy
- Provides assessment to identify patient needs
- Documents pertinent clinical data following group
- Provides individual assessment to patients as needed and makes recommendations to treatment team regarding needs for specialized rehab services or for planning for discharge and aftercare support
- Assists in maintaining unit arts supplies and reports issues to the Director
- Assists as necessary for projects, reports, and other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Effective group facilitation
Requirements
- Associates degree in occupational therapy from an AOTA-accredited program
- Current licensure by the Board of Allied Health Professionals, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- American Occupational Therapy Association membership preferred
- IRF and/or LTACH experience preferred
- Current Certification in BLS of Adult, Child and Infant
- 2 - 3 years of inpatient/outpatient psychiatric/substance use experience (willing to train individuals with a passion to learn)
